New year! Big ideas! Let’s throw them all in one place and see what sticks!

Without further ado, my 2026 is being split to three sections of creative pursuits that, ideally, all feed and furnish each other. All this, of course, is in tandem with my normal shenanigans of doing “Too Much”.

The To-Be-Read Mountain grows with fascinating tomes by seminal scholars:

Warriors and Wilderness in Medieval Britain by Robin Melrose
Early Rhymes of Robyn Hood by Thomas H. Olgren and Lister M. Matheson
Storyworlds of Robin Hood by Lesley Coote
Robin Hood: A Mythic Biography by Stephen Knight

Refining those Academic Musings into Research Topics:

How have we been presenting folklore heroes, and how do we continue to present them
Where do seemingly random and miscellaneous elements of our favorite stories stem from
Is there a true through line with our favorite folk tales

Self-led Artistic Projects:

All female production of The Oresteia
Folklore Lecture Series
Compiling Robin Hood ballads into 15 min presentations

Only time shall tell what I am able to accomplish and see to fruition, but at the moment I am quite energized by the above compilation. Begin how you mean to go on and all that, plus 2026 is the year of the horse… Let’s charge ahead!
